Building Structures
All of our posts are 8 ft on center to help reduce waste and labour costs. Each post sits on a minimum 10 inch thick concrete footing. The footings are poured in place and are 48 inches deep. This is well below the frost line to prevent any heaving during the freeze and thaw cycle. Back filled with crushed gravel and compacted which will mitigate any moisture. Post type and size will differ on the size and height of the specific building.

Post Spaces and Depths

Wall Systems
Our walls are built using 2x4s at 2ft on centre. We use a combination of pressure treated wood and SPF lumber. There will be a standard double header, this not only ties the wall sections together but also provides a strong base to support your roof system.
Trusses
All trusses are pre engineered and manufactured to correspond with your building type as well as building codes in your area. There are very many options to choose from when it comes to designing your truss.
All the windows we use come with a PVC frame with options for colour. Some common types are

Suntuf
Another system of natural lighting is to use polycarbonate panels which are translucent, impact resistant as well as chemically resistant. These come with a 10 year warranty.

Sliding Doors
Many traditional barns are equipped with these. They offer a better price point and are an economical entrance with the highest maximum door height.
We use a Canadian supplier for all our steel profiles and trims. The steel is manufactured using 30% recycled material and are 100% recyclable at the end of their service life.
